Our much-loved Spring Fayre returns this May – with a little twist! This year we’re going green-ish, celebrating spring, nature and creative ways of getting here.
Spend a joyful day on the farm:
Refuel along the way with tea, coffee and homemade cake, enjoy food from the BBQ, and relax with a drink from the bar.
Expect everything you love about High Mead: great food, fun games, lots to see and a warm farm welcome – just with a lighter footprint and a sense of adventure.
We’ve lost most of our parking this year, so getting here is part of the fun. We’re encouraging visitors to travel in inventive, planet-friendly ways:
🚶 On foot
🚲 By bike
🚌 By bus
🧙 By magic carpet
🐪 By camel
…or anything else you can dream up!
Car parking is very limited and must be booked in advance with a separate parking ticket. No parking will be available on the gate.
Important information:
“Greenish” because we’re doing our best – not being perfect. Come and celebrate May at High Mead, arrive differently, and be part of a fayre that’s a little kinder to the planet (and a lot more fun).
Our therapeutic farm in Longham, Ferndown.
With the experienced guidance and support from our Staff and the generosity of our Volunteers we offer a day service to members of the public living with mental health issues, physical disabilities, addiction, Alzheimer & dementia diagnosis, brain injury, vision & hearing impairment, autism, children excluded from school, Parkinson’s and learning difficulties to engage in an array of interesting activities on the farm.
We work alongside local businesses, churches, social services, local authorities, schools, universities, organisations and charities. We are open to the public to purchase fresh seasonal vegetables, our own honey, eggs & kindling, from our on site Farm Shop.
A huge thanks to everyone who attended our big fundraising event, our Spring Fayre on Saturday 17th May. It was lovely to see so many people attending the Farm and the sun shone on each and every one of us. We loved seeing families enjoying a day in the sunshine playing games such as Crockery Smash, Coconut Shy as well as pushing home-made “prams” into a wall of cardboard boxes – proper traditional old games. The Chicken Poo bingo was a huge success and new this year was Ferret Racing !! Our BBQ , Vegan food stall and the Donut/candy floss stalls were kept busy serving up tasty delights for everyone. Quayside Cloggies entertained us throughout with their dancing and music, followed by more live music from RJ Soulcoaster, to entertain everyone while enjoying the sunshine.
Thank you to all our loyal stall holders as well as Vicky at Paws on Board for hosting the dog show again this year.
We managed to raise in excess of £10,000, which will be going towards vital repairs to our boundary fences to keep our animals safe.
Again we wish to thank everyone, including our amazing Volunteers, for supporting us and making this day an amazing event!
